Prof. Oluwatosin Ogundare FUTA Alumnus Making Global Impact in Academia and Industry

Prof. Ogundare began his academic journey in FUTA’s pioneering Computer Science program, graduating with a Bachelor of Technology degree in 2008. He furthered his education with a Master’s degree at Oklahoma State University and a Ph.D. at Texas Tech University, focusing on statistical learning models for sleep quality prediction.

As a Professor of Information and Decision Sciences at California State University, San Bernardino, and a Research Scientist at Siemens Technology, Prof. Ogundare seamlessly bridges academia and industry. His groundbreaking contributions include U.S. patents in fluidic channel systems, industrial automation, and data acquisition, positioning him as a global leader in science and technology.

Commitment to Education and FUTA
Despite his international success, Prof. Ogundare remains deeply connected to FUTA. In 2024, he launched the Euler-Lagrange-Ogundare Nexus Prize, an annual ₦240,000 award recognizing the best-graduating student from the School of Computing in mathematics and computer science courses. His ₦1.2 million donation funds the prize for five years, reinforcing his belief in the transformative power of education.
