Prof Sanusi Rafindadi Aliyu To Chair ABU Organised Lectures Committee

A letter by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, reconstituting the committee, said the appointment was in line with the Provisions of the University Committee Structure (2023).

Rafindadi, a distinguished economist at the Department of Economics, is presently the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Advancement, Research, and Innovation. 

Specifically, the committee is mandated to, among others, recommend schedule for public and inaugural lectures, including the lecturers, topics, chairmen, and budgets.

It is to liaise between the university and lecturers as may be approved by the Vice-Chancellor in addition to arranging for the production and circulation of invitations, programmes, and lecture texts. 

Equally, the committee is charged to arrange for suitable venues and ancillary equipment and streaming for the lectures as well as report to the Vice-Chancellor on its activities biannually.

Members of the committee include Prof Ibrahim Jimoh, Department of Mass Communication; Prof Hamza A. Yusuf, Department of Public Administration; and Dr Basira Yahaya, Department of Computer Engineering. 

Others are Prof S S Amoor, Department of Vocational and Technical Education; Prof Sani Awwalu, Department of Haematology and Blood Transfusion; and Director, Public Affairs Directorate, who will double as secretary.
