The Federal Government has appointed Professor Idia Nibokun Ize-Iyamu as the new Chief Medical Director of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH). She is the current Dean of Dentistry at the University of Benin and a renowned academic and clinician.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, Professor Edoba Omoregie, SAN, congratulated Professor Ize-Iyamu on her appointment, describing her as hardworking and a consummate medical professional. He expressed confidence that she will bring her wealth of knowledge and experience to effect progress in her new role.
Professor Ize-Iyamu's appointment is a significant milestone, marking her as the first woman to hold the position since the hospital's founding in 1973. With over 27 years of experience at UBTH, she has established herself as a respected leader and scholar in her field.
