Rabiu Sagir Shines as BUK Silences KASU in NUSSA Clash

Rabiu Mohammed Sagir delivered a stellar performance on Monday, May 26, 2025, as he fired home two decisive goals to hand Bayero University Kano (BUK) a 2-0 victory over Kaduna State University (KASU) at the FIFA Pitch, Old Campus, during the 14th edition of the Nigeria University Staff Sports Association (NUSSA) Games.

Sagir, from the Staff School, struck in both halves to lead BUK team to a dominant win, leaving KASU reeling and boosting BUK’s momentum in the tournament. His brace not only secured BUK’s spot in the second round but also made him the university's top scorer and a strong contender for the tournament’s Golden Boot.

The win follows BUK’s 3-0 walkover triumph against Ekiti State University the previous day, making it two wins in two and setting the team up as one of the early favorites in the competition.
