Rivers State University Appoints Dr. Idanyingi Daminabo as Registrar
The 15th Governing Council of Rivers State University (RSU), Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, has approved the appointment of Dr. Idanyingi I. Daminabo as the substantive Registrar of the university.
The 15th Governing Council of Rivers State University (RSU), Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, has approved the appointment of Dr. Idanyingi I. Daminabo as the substantive Registrar of the university.

Until her appointment, Dr. Daminabo served as Acting Registrar, a position she held from 15 December 2025.
Dr. Daminabo holds the following academic qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Sociology
- Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Sociology
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Human Resource Management
She joined the services of Rivers State University in 1994 as an Administrative Officer I through a transfer of service from the Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori, where she had been employed as an Administrative Officer II in 1988.
Over the course of her career, she rose through the ranks and attained the position of Director in 2017.
She is also a member and fellow of several professional bodies, including:
- Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration
- Fellow, Institute of Policy Management and Leadership Development (FIPLD)
- Member, Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM)
- Member, Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA)

According to the university, her appointment took effect from 11 June 2026.
The appointment was announced in a statement signed by the Acting Director of Corporate Affairs, Victor G. Banigo, on 14 July 2026.
