RSU Announces Deadline for Clearance and Registration of Newly Admitted Students

The Rivers State University (RSU), Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, has fixed Wednesday, January 28, 2026, as the final deadline for the clearance and registration of all newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The directive was contained in an internal memorandum issued by the Acting Registrar, Dame Dr. Idanyingi I. Daminabo, in accordance with the Senate-approved Academic Calendar of the University. The memo was circulated to Provosts, Deans of Faculties, the Director of the Information and Communication Technology Centre (ICTC), Heads of Departments, and all Faculty Officers for immediate implementation.

According to the memorandum, the University’s Matriculation Ceremony for fresh students has been scheduled to hold on the same date, January 28, 2026. The ceremony will officially mark the end of the clearance and registration exercise for the 2025/2026 academic session.

RSU management directed that all newly admitted students must be adequately informed to report to their respective Faculty Officers to complete all clearance and registration procedures within the approved timeframe. The University warned that any admission not regularized before the deadline will be deemed to have lapsed.

The memo further instructed that the information be published on the University’s official website to ensure wide dissemination among all affected candidates.

Fresh students are therefore required to complete all required documentation, biometric capture, and registration formalities on or before January 28, 2026, to retain their admission status.
