Sokoto Gov Rewards Best Graduating Student with 2026 Hajj Sponsorship

Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has awarded a fully funded trip to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise to Sherif Abdullahi, the overall best-graduating student of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. Abdullahi, a Microbiology graduate, achieved a remarkable Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.92.

The governor made the announcement during the university's 42nd convocation ceremony, where degrees were awarded to thousands of students. Aliyu described Abdullahi's achievement as "one of the highest" and commended the student's academic excellence. The governor emphasized the university's impact on national and international development, highlighting the importance of nurturing talented students.
