Speaker Abbas Tajudeen Donates 3,000 Bags of Rice to Federal University of Education, Zaria

In a significant boost to staff welfare ahead of the holy month, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has donated 3,000 bags of rice as Ramadan palliatives to the Federal University of Education, Zaria.

The distribution exercise, flagged off on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the Dr. M. I. Maccido Multipurpose Hall, marks the fifth consecutive year the Speaker has extended this gesture to the institution.

The Chairman of the Distribution Committee, Mal. Samaila Hadi, emphasized the Speaker’s deep-seated concern for the university community. He lauded the university management for their consistent cooperation, which has ensured the transparency and success of previous interventions.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe, expressed profound gratitude to the Speaker.

"The university has consistently received the highest allocation whenever the Speaker distributes palliatives," Dr. Balarabe noted. "This is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of our staff and the development of this institution."

The event was attended by high-ranking officials and aides, including Dr. Yahaya Yusuf Kwaros (Special Adviser to the Speaker on Chieftaincy Matters), the Acting Registrar, Mal. Shehu Iya Sa’idu, and the Director of Security Affairs, Mal. Halilu Hassan.
