The management of Redeemer’s University has celebrated a monumental academic milestone as one of its faculty members, Dr. Timilehin Gideon Shaba, emerged as the winner of the prestigious Nigerian Society of Physical Sciences (NSPS) PhD Thesis Prize 2025.
Beyond winning the category for Mathematics and Statistics, Dr. Shaba secured the ultimate distinction: the Overall Best NSPS PhD Thesis Prize across all physical science disciplines.
The formal presentation took place on February 10, 2026, during the annual NSPS Conference hosted at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. The Vice-Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, Professor Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, hailed the achievement as a reflection of the institution's rigorous research culture.
"We are incredibly proud of Dr. Shaba. His success is a testament to the excellence we embody," Prof. Akindele stated, adding that the honor brings significant prestige to the university’s Department of Mathematics.
