Student Shares Inspiring Journey of Gaining Nursing Admission at FULokoja After Three JAMB Attempts

Adekola Roseline, a newly admitted student at the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), has sparked inspiration across social media by detailing her three-year journey to secure a spot in the university's highly competitive Nursing Science programme. Federal University Lokoja Official Website

Her story, shared ahead of the university's 14th Matriculation Ceremony, highlights the challenges of navigating the Nigerian university admission process.

Roseline’s academic journey was marked by a steady increase in performance and a refusal to settle for alternative courses:

2023: Scored 237 in her first UTME. Despite the solid score, she was not offered admission.

Attributing her success to spiritual strength and family backing, Roseline cited Jeremiah 29:11 as her guiding scripture. "My parents were my backbone," she stated. "Their sacrifices and belief in me kept me standing when I felt weak."

As FUL prepares for its 2026 matriculation, Roseline’s testimony serves as a beacon for other "aspirants" who may be facing academic setbacks. The university management continues to see a surge in applications for its College of Health Sciences, which was established to address the healthcare manpower gap in North-Central Nigeria.

The hashtag #FUL14thMatriculation has since become a platform for other "Proudly FULites" to share their success stories of resilience.
