Taraba State University Gains Certification on MLSCN Professional Examination for Students
Taraba State University, Jalingo, has earned commendation from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) for its rising academic standards as the Department of Medical Laboratory Science begins its maiden professional examinations.
A delegation from MLSCN, led by Prof. Zakka Sheyin, visited the institution on Monday to supervise the process and assess the university’s preparedness for professional training. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Paul Bako, received the examiners in company of the DVC Development Services, Prof. Mahmood Hamidu Umar and the University Librarian, Dr. Israel Habibu Idris.
Prof. Sheyin praised TSU’s rapid infrastructural development, especially the modern laboratories and Computer-Based Testing facilities made possible through the support of His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas and the university management. He noted that TSU is now among the institutions with the capacity to deliver a robust Medical Laboratory Science programme.
Speaking, Prof. Bako expressed gratitude to the Council for its oversight and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to sustaining high academic standards. Over 200 students are participating in the maiden professional examinations.
Students of the department also appreciated the management’s efforts, describing the milestone as a new chapter in the growth of the programme and the university at large.
