Taraba State University VC Visits ABU, Donates ₦500,000 to Botany Department

The Vice-Chancellor, Taraba State University, Prof S P Bako, has called on his Ahmadu Bello University counterpart, Prof Adamu Ahmed.

Briefing Prof Ahmed on the purpose of the visit, the Prof Bako stated that he was at ABU for the end of the year celebration organised by the Department of Botany.

Prof Bako was a staff of Ahmadu Bello University before his appointment as the Vice-Chancellor of Taraba State University.

Bako told Prof Ahmed that he personally donated N500,000 to his Department, Department of Botany for the upgrade of research laboratory.

He said the upgrade of the laboratory would inspire mentorship and commitment to academic development.

Prof Bako also expressed readiness to come back to Ahmadu Bello University at the end of his tenure.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Adamu Ahmed, thanked Prof Bako for the visit.

The Vice-Chancellor, who represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof Bello Sabo, said the University Management was happy with Prof Bako for being in contact with his department.

Prof Ahmed commended Bako for the donation and called on other ABU staff holding strategic positions in various places to emulate his good gestures.

The Vice-Chancellor also commended Prof Bako for coming all the way from Taraba despite his tight schedules. He said that this clearly showed he had good commitment for ABU. 

Those who accompanied Prof Bako on the visit were Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, Prof Maryam Aminu; and Head, Department of Botany, Prof Ramatu Enehezeyi. They also included Prof A K Adamu, Prof D B Dangora, and Dr Yahuza Tanimu, among others.
