TETFund Technical Advisory Group Visits Modibbo Adama University Yola

The Modibbo Adama University, Yola, recently received a visit from the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund). The TAG members, Prof. Babagana Mohammed and Prof. Danjuma Gambo, were on campus to conduct a viability assessment of the University's Academic Publishing Centre.

The objective of the assessment is to evaluate the viability of the Academic Publishing Centre and inform TETFund's decisions on reactivating and providing strategic support to APCs nationwide. The initiative aims to enhance academic publishing in Nigerian tertiary institutions.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Admin.), Prof. Aliyu Bawuro Mustafa, assured the team of the University's full cooperation and support to ensure the success of the assessment exercise. He commended TETFund for its strategic initiative to revitalize academic publishing centres across the six geo-political zones.

The visit marks a significant step towards reestablishing a robust academic publishing culture and infrastructure in Nigerian universities. The outcome of the assessment is expected to inform future interventions and support for academic publishing in the country.
