TETFund Trustee Inspects Projects at Federal University of Education Pankshin

The newly appointed Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund, Board of Trustee Member representing the North Central Zone, Dr. Hassan Abdulrahman Ocholi, has inspected TETFund-funded projects at the Federal University of Education, Pankshin, FUEP, as part of efforts to assess their progress, identify challenges and strengthen intervention delivery.

Dr. Ocholi led a TETFund delegation on a familiarisation visit to the University, where he assessed ongoing projects, completed interventions and content-based initiatives supported by the Fund.

Receiving the delegation, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Pankshin, Prof. Noel Nen’man Wannang, welcomed the Zonal Trustee and expressed appreciation for the visit.

Prof. Wannang particularly commended Dr. Ocholi for taking immediate steps to familiarise himself with the University shortly after his appointment, describing the gesture as an indication of his commitment to understanding the needs and challenges of Institutions within the zone.

The Vice-Chancellor also expressed appreciation to TETFund for its interventions at the University, noting that several projects had been completed while others were ongoing.

He, however, drew the attention of the delegation to some areas of distress within the Institution that require further intervention.

Responding, Dr. Ocholi thanked the University management for the warm reception and assured the Institution that its distressed projects and requests would receive appropriate attention.

He said the purpose of the visit was not only to familiarise himself with the University but also to gain firsthand knowledge of the status of TETFund interventions and the challenges confronting their effective implementation.

As part of the visit, Dr. Ocholi commissioned the renovated and remodelled Lecture Halls and Offices executed under the 2024 TETFund Annual Intervention at the Federal University of Education Pankshin.

The newly commissioned facilities represent one of the completed TETFund projects in the University.

The TETFund Trustee further assured the Institution of his commitment to sustained engagement and promised to return to the University in the near future.

Earlier, the Acting Director of Physical Planning, Arc. Joseph Inuwa, presented a detailed slide presentation on TETFund projects in the University, outlining completed and ongoing projects as well as challenges requiring attention.

Registrar of the University, Longtong Yadok, appreciated the TETFund delegation for the familiarisation visit and expressed optimism that the engagement would further enhance the relationship between the University and TETFund.

Dr. Ocholi was accompanied by members of the TETFund delegation, coordinated by Mrs. Kor Kpenbeen, including architects, engineers and members of the Fund’s media team.

The visit provided an opportunity for the TETFund team to obtain firsthand information on the implementation of its interventions at Federal University of Education Pankshin and engage the University management on areas requiring additional support.
