Thomas Adewumi University has congratulated the Vice-Chancellor of Summit University, Abiodun Musa Aibinu, following the extension of his tenure for an additional one year.
In a statement issued by the university community, the management, staff, and students of Thomas Adewumi University described the tenure extension as a well-deserved recognition of Professor Aibinu’s leadership, innovation-driven administration, and contributions to the growth and transformation of Summit University.
The institution stated that the decision by Summit University’s Governing Council and Board of Trustees reflects confidence in Aibinu’s capacity to sustain the university’s developmental trajectory and institutional reforms.
According to the statement, Summit University has recorded notable progress under his leadership in areas including academic expansion, research development, digital transformation, sustainability initiatives, and institutional visibility.
Thomas Adewumi University further noted that these achievements have continued to strengthen Summit University’s position as an emerging centre of excellence within Nigeria’s higher education sector.
As a fellow member of the KU8+ Consortium, the university described Professor Aibinu’s administration as a source of inspiration within the academic community, particularly in advancing innovation, quality education, and institutional development.
The statement also commended the collaborative relationship between both institutions and expressed optimism that Summit University would continue to attain greater national and international relevance under Aibinu’s leadership.

Professor Aibinu’s tenure extension recently received approval from Summit University’s Governing Council and Board of Trustees following the completion of his first term in office.
