UDUS Debate Club Visits Vice Chancellor for Trophy Presentation

The Debate Club of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), recently visited the University's Vice Chancellor, Professor Garba Bashir, to present the trophy won at the Caliphate Debate 5.0.

The club's president, Olarewaju Umar Faruq, led the delegation, which included other notable executives and the Club's Staff Advisor, Dr. Tukur M. Muktar.

The UDUS Debate Club emerged as the Overall Best Team at the prestigious Caliphate Debate 5.0, with Abubakar Muizat and Issa Islamiyah being named Overall Best Speaker and Second Best Speaker, respectively. The Vice Chancellor congratulated the team on their achievement and promised to support the club's future endeavors.

The Vice Chancellor tasked the club to organize an inter-faculty debate competition to celebrate the university's 50th anniversary, which is scheduled to take place in early September. The club's president confirmed that efforts are underway to secure a spot for the debate tournament within the anniversary celebrations.

The visit served as a moment of recognition from the university leadership, celebrating the students' achievement and showcasing the talents of UDUS students. The club's president expressed confidence in the Vice Chancellor's promises, citing his previous support for the club's activities.
