UDUS Students Escape Unhurt as Bus Catches Fire in Ogbomoso

A 16-seater bus conveying students of Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) from Ibadan caught fire on the Ogbomoso expressway on February 1, 2025. Fortunately, all students on board escaped unhurt, although some lost their luggage in the incident.
The swift response of emergency services and bystanders helped prevent any major casualties or damage. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and emergency preparedness.
In a similar incident last year, a bus carrying 100 kegs of petrol caught fire in Kwara State, but was quickly extinguished by firefighters, averting a major disaster .
