UNIDEL Inaugurates New SUG Executive Body; Charges Leaders with ‘RAISE Agenda
The University of Delta, Agbor, has inaugurated the newly elected Students Union Government (SUG).At the inauguration ceremony held in the University's Council Chambers, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Eric Eboh, congratulated the newly elected student leaders and assured them of the support and partnership of the University Management.
He described students as critical stakeholders and the focal point of the institution, urging them to initiate programmes and activities that would advance the RAISE Agenda of his administration.
Prof. Eboh commended the digital electoral system introduced by the pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke, and emphasized that leadership was about inspiring people, adding positive value, and representing the aspirations of those being led. He charged the student leaders to be role models and worthy ambassadors of the University, assuring them that they would always find in him a partner, mentor, and father.

The Registrar, Dr. Mrs. Esther Akpojuvie, administered the oath of office to the elected officials, signaling the assumption of office off both the executive and legislative arms of the body.
In his response, the SUG President, Eneni Kemesuodei, expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him and his team and pledged to provide responsible leadership. He also assured the University Management of the Union's commitment to working in line with the principles and objectives of the RAISE Agenda.
The event was attended by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Patrick Ijeh; University Librarian, Dr. Vera Okonoko; Dean of Students Advisory Services, Dr. Rufus Ijeh; Director of ICT, Dr. Mrs. Bridget Malasowe; members of the Electoral Committee, executives of the UNIDEL Alumni Association, and other student leaders.
