UNILAG Celebrates Ministerial Appointments of Distinguished Alumni
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) recently celebrated the ministerial appointments of its distinguished alumni, Dr. Tunji Alausa as the Minister of Education and Dr. Jumoke Oduwole as the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Dr. Alausa has been appointed as the Minister of Education, while Dr. Oduwole takes on the role of Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment.
This recognition of UNILAG graduates highlights the institution's tradition of producing leaders committed to fostering positive change in Nigeria. Dr. Tunji Alausa, an esteemed alumnus of the College of Medicine, Class of 1993, has made significant strides in the medical field as a renowned Nephrologist and Hypertension specialist. His career is marked by a dedication to excellence, including a notable tenure as an Assistant Professor at Rush University Medical School in the United States.
Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, MFR, a graduate from the 1998 Law class, has also carved a remarkable path in public service and academia. Her impressive credentials include further studies at Cambridge University and Stanford Law School, where she earned a doctorate in International Trade and Development. Oduwole's career features critical roles, such as Special Adviser to former President Muhammadu Buhari on Ease of Doing Business and Special Assistant to former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC).
In expressing her pride, Vice-Chancellor Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, extended heartfelt congratulations to both alumni on behalf of the entire UNILAG community. Their achievements serve as an inspiration to current and future students, affirming UNILAG's pivotal role in shaping Nigeria's leaders.
This recent reshuffle by President Tinubu also included the appointment of several other ministers, demonstrating a commitment to bringing experienced professionals into governance. The new cabinet comprises a total of 45 members, with notable names like Nentawe Yilwatda, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, and Bianca Odumegu-Ojukwu among those recently appointed.
