UNIMAID Chief Security Officer Honored with "Icon of Security Ambassadorship" Award

Major Mohammed Abiya (Rtd), the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), has been conferred with the prestigious Icon of Security Ambassadorship Award. The honor was presented by the Coalition of Nigerian Youth on Security and Safety Affairs (CONYSSA).

The award recognizes Major Abiya’s sustained commitment to enhancing community safety and his invaluable contributions to security management within the academic environment and beyond.

The conferment took place on December 17, 2025, during the North-West Youth Multi-Stakeholders’ Security Summit on Social Vices. The high-level event was held at the Coronation Hall within the Kano State Government House.
