UNIMAID Vice-Chancellor Hosts PTDF Delegation for Strategic Equipment Verification Visit
The Vice-Chancellor University of Maiduguri, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, has received a delegation from the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) on an equipment inspection and verification visit to the University.
The Vice-Chancellor was ably represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Central Administration, Professor Babagana Bako, at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building on Monday the 22nd December, 2025.
Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Babagana Bako reiterated Professor Mele’s appreciation of PTDF’s continued support and partnership with the University of Maiduguri. He commended the PTDF for providing critical equipment aimed at boosting teaching, learning, and research activities across various fields of endeavor in the university.
Professor Mele expressed his gratitude to PTDF for its sustained commitment to capacity building and institutional development, noting that the donated equipment would significantly enhance academic and research output.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chief Officer and Team Leader of the delegation, Mr. Tajudeen Olaniyi Ibiyeye of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), explained that the purpose of the visit was to inspect and verify the equipment supplied to the University to ensure they were properly installed and functioning optimally.
Mr. Ibiyeye also stated that the delegation paid a courtesy visit to the University Management to congratulate the Vice-Chancellor on his dedication and commendable service to the institution.
