The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has welcomed a delegation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) as part of the accreditation exercise for its B.Sc. Food Science and Technology programme.

The visit took place on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building.
Receiving the team on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Central Administration), Professor Babagana Bako, expressed the University’s appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed its commitment to upholding academic excellence.
Professor Bako assured the NUC panel of the University’s full cooperation, emphasizing that all necessary facilities, staff, and documentation would be made available to ensure a seamless accreditation process.

The accreditation panel, led by Professor Makeri, is expected to evaluate the programme’s academic standards, available resources, and physical infrastructure, and to provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
