The Health Information Management, HIM, Department of the UNIMED Teaching Hospital, Ondo City, under the experienced and visionary leadership of its pioneer Head of Department, Mr. Kubolaje Ojo Famujimi, has continued to strengthen the foundation of quality healthcare delivery through efficient health information management and professional record services.

From the inception of the Mother and Child Hospital in 2012 to its transformation into the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Mr. Famujimi has provided exceptional leadership, ensuring that patients' health records remain accurate, confidential, secure and readily accessible to support timely clinical decision-making and patient-centred care.

The Department's core responsibilities include medical records management, health information documentation, disease coding and classification, confidentiality and data security, records retrieval, health data collection and analysis, as well as electronic health records, EHR, management.

Committed to seamless healthcare delivery, the department operates through strong inter-unit collaboration across the hospital. These include the Obstetrics and Gynaecology HIM Unit, the Accident and Emergency HIM Unit, as well as dedicated HIM units in the Dental and Physiotherapy Departments and other clinical areas within the institution.
