UNIPORT Pro-Chancellor Calls for Strategic Digital Transformation to Boost Global Visibility

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of the University of Port Harcourt, Senator Mao Ohunabonwa, has emphasized the need for deliberate and strategic efforts to enhance the institution’s global visibility through innovation and collaboration.

Senator Ohunabonwa made this known while speaking at the ongoing Council Retreat with the theme, “Positioning the University of Port Harcourt for Global Visibility through Digital Transformation, Entrepreneurship Development and Strategic Partnerships.”

In his address, the Pro-Chancellor highlighted the importance of digital transformation in strengthening academic delivery, improving administrative efficiency, and increasing the University’s competitiveness on the global stage. He noted that embracing technology-driven solutions is no longer optional but essential for institutions seeking relevance in the 21st century.

The Retreat, which brought together key stakeholders of the University, is expected to generate actionable strategies and policy directions aimed at repositioning the University of Port Harcourt for sustained growth and international recognition.
