UNIPORT Set to Inaugurate 10th SUG Senate
The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) is finalized to officially inaugurate the 10th Senate of the Student Representative Council (SRC). The ceremony will induct all duly elected and nominated senators representing faculties, hostels, and off-campus constituencies.
The inauguration is scheduled for Monday, January 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Faculty of Social Sciences Auditorium.

The ceremony marks the formal commencement of legislative duties for the new session. According to a statement signed by the Senate President, Sen. Bestman Ayebaye Desmond Ilegimokuma, the 10th Senate is committed to reinforcing "effective representation, accountability, and student-centered governance" within the UNIPORT community.
