The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has announced the suspension of all non-academic related student activities across the institution until further notice.

The decision was contained in a memorandum issued by the Office of the Registrar and addressed to all students, following a meeting of the university’s Principal Officers held on Monday, July 20, 2026.
According to the memorandum, students are prohibited from organising or participating in any activity outside the university’s normal academic programmes, whether such activities had previously received approval or not.

The university management directed all students to strictly comply with the suspension order, noting that the decision was taken in the interest of maintaining order and ensuring the smooth running of academic activities.
The suspension remains effective until further notice from the university authorities.
