The Bursary Department of the University of Abuja organized an in-house training workshop aimed at equipping staff with practical knowledge of the New Tax Act 2025 and its implications for payroll, PAYE, and public sector financial management.

The training, held at the university’s Main Campus, was declared open by Vice-Chancellor Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, who urged participants to apply the insights gained to enhance compliance and financial governance within the institution.
In her remarks, Bursar Madam Shiva Rae Kondoun emphasized the importance of inter-unit collaboration to successfully implement the reforms introduced by the new law.
Presentations were delivered by Professor Taibat Atoyebi, Dr. Kennedy Iwundu from ICT University, Cameroon, and Dr. Fasasi A. Kazeem, focusing on the evolving tax systems and practical steps for compliance under the new legislation.
The training sessions were chaired by Professor Philip Olayinka Oyadiran, Dean of the Faculty of Management Science, ensuring interactive discussions and knowledge sharing among participants.

The workshop represents the university’s proactive approach to strengthening staff capacity and ensuring that financial operations remain transparent, compliant, and aligned with national tax regulations.
