The University of Abuja welcomed delegations from three prospective partner institutions to explore collaborations across academic, health, and public safety initiatives.

Representing Budapest Metropolitan University, Vice-Rector for International Relations Dr. Peter Rada discussed staff and student exchange programmes under the Erasmus mobility framework. The proposed collaboration is set to involve the Faculties of Management Sciences and Arts, with a focus on enhancing international exposure and academic cooperation.

Also visiting was Professor Augustine Odili, President of the Nigerian Cardiac Society and Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine, accompanied by Dr. Doris Maduka, Executive Director of the Society for Public Health and Social Development. Their team proposed the implementation of Basic Life Support training and the installation of public access defibrillators on campus to promote student and community health.

Similarly, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), FCT Sector Command, led by Corps Commander Felix N. Theman, explored potential partnerships for youth-focused road safety programmes, aiming to raise awareness and strengthen knowledge of safe practices among students and the wider community.

Receiving the delegations separately, Vice-Chancellor Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to forging strategic partnerships that advance academic excellence and contribute to national development. He assured the visiting teams of the university’s full institutional support for all mutually beneficial initiatives.
