UNIPORT VC Commends Women in Science Organisation, Calls for Greater Participation in Research

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Professor Chike Princewill, has commended the Organisation for Women in Science for its remarkable contributions to scientific advancement and exploration, urging the organisation to remain committed to promoting excellence, innovation and greater participation of women in science.

Professor Princewill gave the commendation while receiving the leadership of the organisation, led by its President, Professor Ndanma Henry-Okowa, during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor’s Committee Room.

The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the University’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for research, innovation and academic excellence, noting that the contributions of women in science are critical to national development.

He encouraged the organisation to continue mentoring young female scientists and foster collaborations that would further strengthen scientific research and discovery.

Earlier, the President of the Organisation, Professor Ndanma Henry-Okowa, congratulated Professor Princewill on his appointment as Vice-Chancellor and wished him a successful and impactful tenure.
