Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji Appoints Fadeji Joseph Adebayo as Fourth Substantive Registrar

The Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, has appointed Mr. Fadeji Joseph Adebayo as its fourth substantive Registrar.

The appointment was approved by the Governing Council of the institution at its 27th Statutory Meeting held on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

Mr. Fadeji will serve a single five-year term, officially commencing on Thursday, September 10, 2026. 

He succeeds Mr. Gabriel Adeyemi Awe, whose tenure as Registrar ends on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

In a letter referenced FPI/RPA/FAD/493 and dated August 31, 2026, Mr. Fadeji was described as a seasoned administrator with extensive experience expected to contribute significantly to the continued growth and development of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji.

Born on October 8, 1969, at Akio Compound, Fiditi, in Afijio Local Government Area of Oyo State, Mr. Fadeji has built a career spanning more than two decades in administration within the polytechnic system.

He began his educational journey by obtaining the Teachers’ Grade II Certificate from the Local Authority Teachers’ College, Iseyin, in 1988. 

He subsequently obtained the Nigerian Certificate in Education, NCE, from St. Andrew’s College of Education, Oyo, in 1992, before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Education, http://B.A.Ed., in English from the University of Ilorin in 1998, graduating with Second Class Honours, Upper Division.

He further strengthened his academic qualifications with a Master of Public Administration, MPA, from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, in 2021 and a Master of Science, http://M.Sc., in Public Administration from the same institution in 2024.

Mr. Fadeji also holds professional certifications and memberships in several recognised bodies. 

He became a professionally certified member of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, MICA, in 2012, a Chartered Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, MNIM, in 2013, and an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, ANIPR Chartered, in 2020.

His administrative career in the polytechnic system began in 2001 when he joined Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, as an Administrative Officer II in the Registry Department, where he was attached to the Registrar’s Office.

Through diligence, commitment and professional growth, he steadily progressed through the administrative ranks. 

In 2004, he became Administrative Officer I, serving as Council Affairs Officer in the Registrar’s Office. 

He was promoted to Assistant Registrar in 2007, during which he served as a Faculty Officer and Acting Public Relations Officer. 

By 2010, he had risen to the position of Senior Assistant Registrar, serving in the Continuing Education Programme and as a Directorate Affairs Officer. 

He became Principal Assistant Registrar in 2013 and served as the institution’s Public Relations Officer before attaining the rank of Deputy Registrar in 2016.

Since becoming a Deputy Registrar, Mr. Fadeji has served in several key units and directorates of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree. 

His assignments have included the Directorate of Personnel Affairs, from July 2016 to February 2017; the Board of Studies Unit, from February 2017 to June 2019; and General Administration as well as the Directorate of Media, Public Relations and Protocol, where he has served since June 2019.

Throughout his career, the newly appointed Registrar has also participated in several institution-based committees, serving in different capacities including Chairman, Secretary and Member.

He has attended numerous conferences, workshops, capacity-building programmes and other professional development activities aimed at strengthening his administrative and leadership skills.

Mr. Fadeji has also contributed to academic and professional literature as a co-author of four scholarly publications.

With 25 years of cognate administrative experience within the polytechnic system, his appointment brings extensive institutional knowledge and administrative expertise to the leadership of the Registry at the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji.

His appointment comes as the institution continues to strengthen its administrative structure and pursue its broader development objectives.
