The University of Ibadan has announced that Professor Olatunji Oyeshile, former Dean of the Faculty of Art, has been nominated to present the 2025 annual public lecture in celebration of UNESCO World Philosophy Day.

The lecture is scheduled to hold on November 20, 2025, at Wageningen University, the Netherlands. Prof. Oyeshile’s lecture, titled “Human and Cultural Diversities and the Reconciliation of the Self with the Other”, is part of the university’s “African Philosophy” course and is open to students, academics, and philosophy enthusiasts worldwide.

The session will take place at Wageningen Campus from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CET (UTC+1:00) and will be livestreamed across partnering universities in Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa, with the University of Ibadan serving as a key partner institution for the event.

The lecture aims to explore themes of cultural diversity, human coexistence, and philosophical reconciliation, reinforcing the global relevance of African philosophical thought.
