The University of Jos community is reeling after a 23-year-old student, David Nanpon Timmap, was arrested for allegedly killing and burying his 22-year-old colleague, Peter Mata Mafurai, in a shallow grave behind his off-campus residence in Rusau village.

Timmap, a 200-level Agricultural Science student, reportedly attacked Mafurai, a 300-level Banking and Finance student, with a machete over a misunderstanding related to a joint music project. The victim's body was recovered, and investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the brutal act.
