University of Lagos Announces 449th Inaugural Lecture

Professor Ezechiel Oladapo Longe of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Lagos (UNILAG), is set to deliver the four hundred and forty-ninth (449th) Inaugural Lecture of the institution, marking the third (3rd) lecture in the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

Professor Ezechiel Oladapo Longe of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Lagos (UNILAG), is set to deliver the four hundred and forty-ninth (449th) Inaugural Lecture of the institution, marking the third (3rd) lecture in the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

The lecture will take place on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

Titled “Unlocking the Hidden Treasure: The Complexity, Availability, and Vulnerability of Groundwater Resource,” the lecture will explore the dynamics of groundwater resources, emphasizing their importance, distribution, and susceptibility to environmental and human factors.

The Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, OON, FAS, will chair the lecture. It is scheduled to hold at the J.F. Ade Ajayi Auditorium within the university campus at 4:00 p.m., with guests expected to be seated by 3:45 p.m.

The lecture is anticipated to attract academics, professionals, students, and other stakeholders interested in civil and environmental engineering, water resource management, and sustainable development practices.
