University of Maiduguri AMR Laboratory Receives High Praise

The University of Maiduguri's Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Laboratory has received commendation from its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, for its significant contributions to animal health, research, and community services in Borno state and beyond.

Professor Mele praised the laboratory's achievements, stating that they reflect the university's commitment to addressing major health challenges affecting humans and animals in Nigeria and globally. He assured the team of continued support from the university management, noting that the AMR laboratory will open doors for international collaboration, funding opportunities, and training for young scientists.

The laboratory has improved significantly, from 0.5% capacity to almost 90% in five months, and is nearing international standards, with accreditation expected soon .
