University of Maiduguri Students Congratulate New Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Laminu Mele
Yesterday, students of the University of Maiduguri gathered at the senate building to celebrate the appointment of Prof. Mohammed Laminu Mele as the institution's substantive Vice-Chancellor.
The Students Union Government (SUG) led the congratulatory event, with President Comrade Hafiz Mohammed Bello speaking on behalf of the students.
Prof. Mele's appointment, effective September 18, 2024, follows the Governing Council's approval ¹. With over two decades of experience in teaching, research, and community service, Prof. Mele brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role. Previously, he served as Acting Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Central Administration) .
