University of Offa to Host Second Inaugural Lecture on Taxation, Governance and Development
The University of Offa (UNIOFFA) has announced that its second inaugural lecture will hold on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, at the University Auditorium.
The University of Offa (UNIOFFA) has announced that its second inaugural lecture will hold on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, at the University Auditorium.
The lecture, titled "The Broken Social Contract: A Scholar's Critical Perspective on Tax Obligation, State Legitimacy and the Crisis of Development," will be delivered by Professor Kareem Adeyimika Adedokun, Professor of Tax Law and Enforcement Policy in the Department of Business Law, Faculty of Law, University of Offa.
Professor Adedokun holds the following academic qualifications:
- NCE (Ilesha)
- LL.B (University of Ilorin)
- LL.M
- Ph.D (Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria)
According to the university, the inaugural lecture will serve as a platform to promote intellectual discourse, research excellence and the pursuit of practical solutions to contemporary national and global challenges through scholarship and knowledge sharing.

The institution has invited members of the academic community, legal practitioners, policymakers, tax administrators, researchers, students and the general public to attend the event and benefit from discussions on:
- Taxation
- Governance
- State legitimacy
- National development
The invitation was extended by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kazeem Alagbe Gbolagade, FNCS, FCILG, FPAN, through the University's Media and Public Relations Unit.
