University of Port Harcourt Announces Admission into MEng/MSc Programmes for 2024/2025 Session
The Energy Technology Institute (ETI) at the University of Port Harcourt has opened applications for its Master of Engineering (MEng) and Master of Science (MSc) programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The Energy Technology Institute (ETI) at the University of Port Harcourt has opened applications for its Master of Engineering (MEng) and Master of Science (MSc) programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session. The Institute is dedicated to developing capacities in research, business, and policy to drive the national and global energy transition agenda for sustainable development.
ETI-UniPort is at the forefront of addressing the global demand for energy transition—a pathway towards transforming the energy sector from inefficient to efficient and sustainable systems using low-carbon and greening technologies. The Institute's mission centers on decarbonization, decentralization, digitalization, and the Triple Helix (3D-TH) model.

The Institute aims to position itself not only as Africa's best but among the top global energy institutes. It is committed to developing energy solutions and professionals equipped to navigate the complex technical, policy, business, and financing challenges facing the energy sector, thereby inspiring a new generation of energy leaders.
ETI-UniPort provides a conducive learning environment with access to audiovisual aids, e-learning, and internet facilities. Students benefit from a 3-month internship in relevant companies and field trips, providing invaluable real-world experience. The teaching faculty includes lecturers from the University of Port Harcourt, other universities within and outside Nigeria, professional bodies abroad, and industry experts, ensuring a comprehensive educational experience.
The following full-time programmes are available, with their respective durations:
- Alternative Fuels and Energy (18 months)
- Automotive Technology (18 months)
- Energy Access and Renewable Energy Technology (18 months)
- Energy Storage and Fuel Cells (18 months)
- Energy Transition Systems (18 months)E
For part-time (flexible) study, the duration is at least double the full-time calendar months.

The University of Port Harcourt will award MEng degrees to candidates with an engineering background and MSc degrees to candidates with a physical sciences background.
Admission Requirements
Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, Second Class Honors, in any branch of Engineering and Physical Sciences. Nigerian candidates must have completed their NYSC before September 25, 2024. Consideration may be given to sponsored company staff with good academic standing.
Application Process
A non-refundable application processing fee of N20,000.00, payable via certified bank draft to the Energy Technology Institute, University of Port Harcourt, is required. Transcripts should be addressed to the Energy Technology Institute, University of Port Harcourt.
