The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, has inspected Garuba Square as part of plans to transform the popular student relaxation and reading spot into a modern, attractive and functional facility.

The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, has inspected Garuba Square as part of plans to transform the popular student relaxation and reading spot into a modern, attractive and functional facility.

Prof. Anyaehie made an unscheduled stop at the University’s Ifite Gate before proceeding to Garuba Square for an immediate on-the-spot assessment of the facility and its surroundings.

The surprise inspection comes ahead of the planned facelift and reconstruction of the square, as the Vice-Chancellor seeks to reposition the facility in line with the University’s vision of improving its physical environment and enhancing the student experience.

Garuba Square is one of the most popular relaxation, lounge and reading spots for students of the University.

During the inspection, Prof. Anyaehie personally assessed the facility and its surroundings, reaffirming his administration’s determination to give the square a world-class outlook.

The planned transformation is expected to mark a significant new chapter for one of UNIZIK’s most familiar student spaces, with the University seeking to create an environment that is more attractive, functional and befitting of its status.
