In a dedicated effort to enhance the cleanliness and conducive atmosphere at Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano, Vice Chancellor Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa today 23rd November 2023 actively participated in the "WALK WITH THE VC" event organized by the National Association of Geography Students (NAGS), Yusuf Maitama Sule University branch. The initiative, themed "WALK FOR ZERO NON BIODEGRADABLE SOLID WASTE," aimed to foster a cleaner environment for both teaching and learning.
The event, overseen by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration Professor Abubakar Salisu Garba, commenced at the Senate Building and progressed to the Faculty of Basic Medical Science. Students, led by the Vice-Chancellor and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, actively engaged in clearing non-biodegradable solid waste, showcasing a collective commitment to the university's cleanliness.

Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa, emphasizing the importance of time management, called upon the leadership of the NAGS to be vigilant and punctual in their endeavors. His hands-on involvement extended from the Faculty of Science to the Faculty of Law, and finally to the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences, underlining his passion for maintaining a clean institution.
During the cleanup, the Vice Chancellor reiterated the significance of cleanliness, stating that "Cleanliness is next to Godliness." Encouraging the association's leaders, he urged them to institutionalize such initiatives, making regular environmental cleanup a habit within the university.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Professor Abubakar Salisu Garba, echoed this view, calling for increased activity from the association to elevate the university's standing in the state and region.
