ABU Management and Alumni Attend 2024 Ofala Festival in Onitsha, Felicitate with Chancellor
The delegation felicitated with His Majesty, Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, who also serves as the Chancellor of ABU, on the historic event
A delegation from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), led by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Prof. Ahmed Doko Ibrahim, participated in the 2024 Ofala festival in Onitsha, Anambra State. The delegation felicitated with His Majesty, Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, who also serves as the Chancellor of ABU, on the historic event.
The theme for this year’s festival, “Courage, Perseverance, Self-reliance,”reflects the growing need for self-sustenance amid the country's current challenges. A delegation from the ABU Alumni Association Worldwide, led by its President, Malam Adamu Mamman Kontagora, also attended the occasion.
Both delegations paid homage to His Majesty and congratulated him on the 23rd Ofala festival of his reign.
Other key members of the ABU management in attendance included Registrar, Malam Rabi'u Samaila; Director of Advancement and International Education, Prof. Sani Abba Aliyu; and Director of Public Affairs, Malam Auwalu Umar. They were joined by former Head of Fine Art Department, Prof. Ken Okoli, and Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, Malam Auwal Yusuf Mohammed.
The ABU Alumni President was accompanied by Vice-President, South East, Mr. Nwokoye Mathew Okechukwu, and Anambra State Chapter Chairman, Sir Victor Okoli KSM.
