ABU Senate Lauds Six Staff Members Ranked Among World's Top 2% Scientists

The Senate of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has commended six staff members for featuring in the list of top 2% scientists globally, as analyzed by Stanford University and Elsevier.

The recognition came during the 540th (Regular) Senate meeting held on September 26, 2024. This year's feat surpasses the 2023 list, which included four ABU staff members.

The honored staff members are:

1. Prof. Mohammed Shafiu (Clinical Pharmacy) - World Rank 154,113

2. Prof. Jha Basant Kumar (Mathematics) - World Rank 186,230

3. Dr. Mohammed Auwal Ibrahim (Biochemistry) - World Rank 339,682

Additionally, the Senate acknowledged:

- ABU's 3rd-place win in the African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO) National Essay Competition
