The Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) community is in mourning following the passing of Professor Olugbwnga Samuel Abejide, an eminent scholar and pillar of the Faculty of Engineering. Professor Abejide passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026.

In an official statement released on behalf of the Faculty, the Dean, Engr. Professor J. M. Kaura, expressed profound grief, describing the loss as monumental for the Department of Civil Engineering and the wider Nigerian academic community.
