PPSN Council Visits FUNAAB VC in Solidarity with 113th Inaugural Lecturer
In a show of professional solidarity, the Council of the Parasitology and Public Health Society of Nigeria (PPSN) paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Professor Babatunde Kehinde, on the morning of Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
The visit was held in honour of the Society’s President, Professor Sam Olufemi Sam-Wobo, ahead of his delivery of the University’s 113th Inaugural Lecture.
Welcoming the high-powered delegation, Professor Kehinde lauded Professor Sam-Wobo as a cornerstone of the university community. He commended the lecturer’s consistent dedication and significant contributions to both the institution and the field of public health.

A key highlight of the meeting was the discussion regarding the upcoming PPSN 2026 Conference, scheduled to take place at FUNAAB in October. The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the University’s commitment to hosting a world-class event, promising full logistical support and an enabling environment.
Professor Kehinde also shared a strategic update, revealing that the University is actively working toward securing full professional registration for the Department of Public Health before the conference commences.
Responding on behalf of the Society, Vice-President I, Professor Gideon Amuga, thanked the University management for the hospitality and the honour bestowed upon their members. He praised the institution's proactive stance on hosting the forthcoming national gathering.
The visit concluded with a symbolic presentation of the PPSN Manual to the Vice-Chancellor by former Society President, Professor Martins Aisien.
