Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has announced the official schedule and procedures for the screening and certificate verification of newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session.

According to the institution’s Special Bulletin, the first phase of the exercise will run from December 1 to December 15, 2025, while the second phase will begin on January 6, 2026.

The University Management has outlined the following mandatory steps for all new students:

1. Mandatory Document Upload
Students must log in to the ABU Post-UTME portal and upload scanned copies of required credentials, including:
– JAMB result (UTME candidates)
– JAMB admission letter
– NIN slip
– Indigene certificate
– Birth certificate
– O’level certificate(s) or statement of results
– A’ level certificate/statement of results (DE candidates)
– Attestation letter or affidavit (where applicable)

2. Result Verification Requirements
Students are expected to provide valid scratch cards or PINs for the verification of their O’level results. For A’ level qualifications, the original certificates must be presented. Where the original is unavailable, a certified true copy is acceptable.

3. Access to Payment and Portal Services
Upon successful clearance, students will be granted access to the university portal to generate a REMITA invoice for school charges. They will then be able to print their ABU admission letter and proceed to reserve a bed space through the same portal.

4. Strict Warning on Bed Space Trading
The university has cautioned that bed spaces are not transferable. Buying, selling, or giving out allocated bed spaces is strictly prohibited and will attract disciplinary action.
