Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Responds to Allegations of Issuing Illegal Certificates
Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) has denied allegations of issuing illegal postgraduate certificates to students of the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAHPT), Vom.
The university's management expressed disappointment over a publication by Premium Times, stating that the story was based on false information.
The FCAHPT had sought to run postgraduate and undergraduate programs under ATBU's Faculty of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology. While the National Universities Commission (NUC) approved the undergraduate program, it rejected the postgraduate request. Despite this, the college allegedly proceeded to admit over 80 students for the postgraduate diploma program.
ATBU's Director of Information and Public Relations, Zailani Bappa, stated that the university has no intention of awarding illegal certificates to any students of its affiliated institutions. He emphasized that ATBU has a reputation for upholding high academic standards and will not compromise its integrity.
