Accreditation Of Faculty Of Agriculture: NUC Team Visits UNIDEL
A high powered National Universities Commission (NUC) team, led by Prof. Mahmood Ibrahim Dangi, visited the University of Delta, (UNIDEL), Agbor, in line with the accreditation process for departments, in the Faculty of Agriculture.
The NUC team, which visited the Departments of Crop and Animal Science, Agricultural Economics and Extension, and Family and Consumer Science, were visibly captivated by the state of the art facilities and equipment on ground at the various places inspected, including the Demonstration Farm, where they spent enough time to take copious notes. Also inspected was the University Library.
Prof. Mahmood Ibrahim Dangi, a renowned agricultural scientist, from Bayero University Kano (BUK), had earlier led his colleagues to pay a courtesy visit on the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delta, Prof. Stella Chiemeke, at the Council Chambers of the University.

According to Prof. Dangi: "The NUC has approved that we come here and verify; to see whether what your University submitted conform with the established standards. Our task is to accredit the various departments of Faculty of Agriculture, and where there is need for improvement, we shall not fail to highlight it at the end of the day".
Welcoming the visitors, Prof. Patricia Mbah, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke, said UNIDEL was aware of NUC supervisory role in the university system, and that every university in Nigeria looked forward to accreditation of programmes annually.
Prof. Mbah stressed that, in spite of the fact that UNIDEL was new, the citadel was making huge progress. While urging the NUC team to do diligent job, the DVC emphasized that the University was doing everything within its power to meet the standards, policies and principles laid down by the NUC.
