Ace Mall Chairman Prince Yinka Afonja Bolsters UCH Eye Clinic with Advanced Diagnostic Equipment

Prince Yinka Afonja Chairman of Ace Mall donated and commissioned Humphrey Central Visual Field Machine to the UCH Opthalmology department on Tuesday, 13th January, 2026 at the premises of the clinic.

Speaking at the event, the Head of the Ophthalmology Department, Prof. Tunji Oluleye, explained that the department’s existing Central Visual Field machine had been under significant pressure due to high patient demand, necessitating the acquisition of an additional unit. He expressed profound gratitude to Prince Afonja for responding positively to the department’s request and supporting improved eye care services.

The Chief Medical Director of UCH, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, also commended the donor for his consistent generosity and unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare delivery at the hospital. He noted that Prince Afonja has been instrumental in supporting UCH through previous donations, including a 250KVA generator, as well as cash gifts of 2million naira yearly to the Ophthalmology Department to assist in the treatment of indigent patients.

Prof. Otegbayo described the donation as a significant boost to the hospital’s capacity to deliver quality ophthalmic care and reaffirmed UCH’s appreciation for partnerships that enhance patient care and service delivery.
