The new Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Prof. Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole, participated in the University’s Staff Fellowship for the first time in her capacity as Vice-Chancellor.

The event, presided over by Prof. Olatunji, Director of the Institute of Education, brought together the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muyiwa Popoola, Acting Registrar Ven. Olusegun Ojo, University Librarian Dr. (Mrs.) Bosede Ajiboye, Deans, Heads of Departments and Units, and hundreds of staff members.
Introduced by University Chaplain Ven. Alvan Ewuzie, Prof. Oduwole addressed the gathering, offering special musical renditions and celebrating staff members born in September and October, noting her own birthday on September 10. She expressed gratitude for her appointment at ACU, highlighting that after 40 years in public universities, she sought an environment where she could serve God more fully, and affirmed that ACU, as a faith-based institution, provides that atmosphere.
Prof. Oduwole encouraged staff to renew their commitment to faith, stating, “If you take up your cross and follow Jesus, you will find joy and fulfillment. God never owes a debt; He rewards our faith in Him.” She emphasized that while fellowship attendance is voluntary, participation offers spiritual blessings and instructed that Monday Staff Fellowship and Wednesday Community Service hours be lecture-free.
She announced several innovations for the fellowship, including a Zoom link for staff on official duties and thematic weekly contributions. On the annual harvest celebration, Prof. Oduwole introduced state-based participation, with staff encouraged to wear traditional attire representing their states during the events.
The Vice-Chancellor also disclosed that the University Senate would convene on Tuesday, during which she would unveil her 30-point agenda for ACU’s development over the next five years. She concluded by expressing appreciation for the warm reception she received during her inauguration ceremony on October 1, 2025, thanking the University community for their hospitality and support.
