ADSU Researchers Win ₦40 Million TETFund Grants in Historic Breakthrough

Adamawa State University, ADSU, has achieved a landmark success in research and innovation as a team of distinguished scholars secured ₦40 million under the 2025 TETFund National Research Fund, NRF, Intervention.

The award marks the first time in the university's history that a team of researchers has emerged successful in a single NRF cycle. Their project, titled "Development of NanoMOF-Based Electrochemical Biosensor for Monitoring Water Contamination and Blood Glucose in Nigeria", is expected to deliver groundbreaking solutions to two pressing challenges: clean water access and diabetes management.

The grant is part of the Federal Government's ₦7.5 billion NRF intervention, which will support 174 research projects across Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. These projects focus on national priority areas such as renewable energy, environmental sustainability, waste management, food preservation, and healthcare innovation.

Speaking on the achievement, Vice-Chancellor of Adamawa State University, Mubi, Professor Augustine Clement, described the grants as a testament to the university's growing excellence in research and innovation. He congratulated the award recipients and commended the wider university community for their dedication to impactful scholarship.

"This milestone reflects ADSU's commitment to producing research that addresses both national and global challenges," Professor Clement said. "We will continue to create an enabling environment for high-quality research, innovation, and academic excellence."
