Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) has approved the promotion of several members of its academic staff to the prestigious ranks of Professor and Associate Professor.
The announcement was made by the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. OtoAbasi E. Akpan, during an emergency Senate meeting held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the university’s main campus in Ikot Akpaden, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area.

- Prof. Nse Akwang – Library and Information Sciences
Promoted to Associate Professor
- Dr. Imoh Imoh Ita – Public Administration
- Dr. Ekom Okpo – Electrical and Electronic Engineering
- Dr. Imo Nkan – Electrical and Electronic Engineering
- Dr. Ndifreke Inyang Udosen – Physics
- Dr. Dominic Ekpo – Mechanical Engineering
- Dr. Glory Edet – Agricultural Economics
